Hello Korean Families,
안녕하세요,
제 이름은 박진아입니다.
My name is Jinah Park,

Welcome to the No-Re-Se-Sang page. 노래( pronounced No-Re) means Song. 세상(pronounced Se-Sang) means World. A World filled with Songs!

In 2000, I moved to Brooklyn from Korea to pursue a master’s degree in Piano Performance and have been a proud Brooklynite ever since.

I am a professional pianist and music educator. I teach piano students of all ages and all levels. I have also taught classroom music in schools. In recent years, I have become passionate about teaching early childhood music class as a “ Music Together®” instructor. “Music Together®” is  a fantastic and very well known program for families with babies and toddlers.

I am also a mom to my 12 year old daughter! While my classes are designed and based on my experience working with early childhood students, they are inspired by my journey as a parent helping my daughter to understand, speak, read and write in Korean from her early years on. Greeting each other hello in Korean and singing Korean nursery songs that I myself grew up with, and that many of you may have also known, brings us great joy!

I look forward to engaging students and parents in speaking, reading (and writing eventually, too!) in Korean. And, music and singing will be the perfect vehicle for that!

I hope my classes will become a companion in your family’s journey in Korean language and culture.

감사합니다!
Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jinah Park

10-10:45 am- Few seats left. Filling up fast!
Note: 9-9:45 am class will be available if there is enough demand and 10 am class is full. Please inquire.

-Immersion in Korean language. The class explores 한글(Han-Geul), Korean characters as well as vocabularies and simple expressions that would be spoken in daily life. Fun and interactive activities include singing, playful movements, drawing and also using props such as stuffed animals, shakers and rhythm sticks etc..
-Parent and Child participate together. This is an essential part to accomplish the goal as below.
- Goal: The immersion keeps going at home! Parent continues the activities with child at home based on what was covered in the class.

Korean Family Sing Along(5-9 families per class)
for babies, young toddlers and parents. (Recommended Age 0-2.5/3 years)
11-11:45 am
-“Singing” is the most natural way to develop and reinforce language. Come experience Korean language through Korean children’s songs! The class is designed for Korean-English bilingual families. You do not need to be fluent in Korean to participate.
-Class opens up with Jinah at the piano singing her original Hello(안녕하세요!) song. Families learn to sing well known Korean children’s songs as well as original and adapted songs by Jinah through movements and props.  While singing, the families will find themselves get familiar with names of colors, numbers, animals and more in Korean!
Closing of a class is a Good-bye(안녕히 계세요) song, an original song created by Jinah.
